storage management solution, Qualstar’s TLS-8000 series
LTO tape libraries offer capacities from 1.1 TB to over 105
TB, and data transfer speeds up to 2 terabytes per hour!
To meet your unique storage needs, there are six LTO tape
libraries within the TLS-8000 series. The largest model, the
TLS-88264, can accommodate up to eight LTO Ultrium tape drives
and up to 264 tapes. Concurrent read and write takes place
at a blazing 2 terabytes per hour--meeting the throughput
needs of today’s rapidly-growing networks.

Qualstar Quality and Reliability
Qualstar has eliminated all electrical and mechanical adjustments
to make installation easy and to enhance reliability. Tape
drive reliability has been improved with the addition of individual
fans for each drive to ensure proper cooling. Filtered, positive
air pressure is maintained throughout the lto tape libraries
to reduce contamination.
Built-In Growth Potential
Capacity and performance growth is built-in to Qualstar's
LTO tape libraries. All drive bays are pre-wired, allowing
users to easily install additional tape drives for increased
throughput. Field upgrade kits are also available to double
the tape capacity of the TLS-8211, TLS-8433 and TLS-88132.
Featuring Q-Link Remote Library Manager
All TLS-8000 series libraries are available with Q-Link,
Qualstar’s web browser accessed remote library manager
that enables administrators to configure, upgrade, and monitor
any tape library via a company intranet or over the Internet
from anywhere in the world. Q-Link extends the library’s
comprehensive front panel menu system and adds additional
functionality such as automatic e-mail notification based
on rules set by the administrator, and firmware updates can
be implemented remotely.
VIOP (Variable I/O Port)
VIOP
(Variable I/O Poet) has been incorporated into all LTO tape
libraries. An exclusive Qualstar design feature, VIOP allows
users to match the number of I/O slots to their specific operational
requirements. Applications are not constrained by limits imposed
by libraries with a fixed number of I/O slots. Users can assign
the number of slots to best match their requirements. VIOP
compliments the hardware I/O Ports which continue to be included
or available in all TLS-8000 models.
Other Advanced Features
Qualstar's LTO tape libraries also offer advanced features
such as Logical Library and barcode scanning of tape cartridges.
An I/O Port is included in several TLS-8000 models for importing
and exporting individual tapes under application control.
