Built around Sony's rock-solid AIT tape technology, the SDX-400C
adds 33% higher performance to the AIT-1 product line. Using
an Ultra Wide SCSI interface, the SDX-400C series delivers
data at sustained transfer rates up to 10.4 MB/s (with 2.6:1
compression).
High Reliability
Sony AIT drives incorporate a redesigned head geometry, reducing
head / tape pressure and delivering up to 50,000 hours of
head life and an industry leading MTBF rating of 300,000 POH
(100% duty cycle).
Compact Form Factor
AIT drives offer high capacity in a compact 3.5-inch form
factor. With a compact size a fraction of the size of other
high capacity tape drive formats, AIT drives are easy to integrate
into desktop workstations, servers and automated tape libraries.
Reduced Periodic Maintenance
Sony AIT drives incorporate a Super Head Cleaner™ mechanism
activated automatically by the drive mechanism when tape errors
approach a certain threshold.
