The Sony SDX-300C tape drive delivers up to 90 GB data storage
capacity in a compact, 8mm data cartridge. Helical scan technology
increases data recording density, while offering fast data
transfer rates of up to 6.0 MB/s.
MIC = Fast Data Access
Sony's innovative Memory-In-Cassette, with 64 kb of built-in
programmable memory, speeds access to data, providing fast
loading (under 10 seconds) and quick file access (27 to 37 seconds).
High Reliability
The redesigned head geometry of Sony's AIT technology reduces
head/tape pressure and delivers up to 50,000 hours of head
life. The Active Head Cleaner mechanism provides an industry-leading
MTBF of 300,000 POH (100% duty cycle).
Compact Form Factor
AIT-1 drives offer BIG capacity in a compact 3.5-inch form
factor. A fraction of the physical size of other high capacity
tape drive formats, AIT-1 drives are easy to integrate into
desktop workstations, servers and automated tape libraries.
Less Periodic Maintenance
AIT-1 drives incorporate an Active Head Cleaner mechanism
that is activated automatically by the drive mechanism when
tape errors approach a certain threshold.
